Tai Chi (tie chee) classes are a holistic approach which educate, guide and empower the participants, resulting in improved balance, greater flexibility and an overall sense of well-being. Endorsed by Harvard Medical School, the AMA and the American Arthritis Foundation, Tai Chi is known to be effective for problems related to stress, anxiety, depression, blood pressure, chronic pain, sleep and memory.
Unlike traditional exercise, Tai Chi will train your mind to focus and direct the energy of Qi (Chi) through your body to improve your strength, balance, flexibility and range of motion. This coordinated application of mind, body and breath is a scientifically effective therapy used to strengthen the immune system, digestive and circulatory systems, skeletal, neurological, and muscular systems of the body. It further improves your ability to actively replicate healthy brain cells. Yes, Tai Chi can help you to regenerate healthy cells of all kind., including the brain. T’ai Chi Chih™ is a form that is easily learned by people of all ages and physical abilities. These classes are insightful, practical and fun, beneficial for your body, mind and spirit. Your SCW Rec Card is required.
Instructor Deanne Hodgson is a nurse, a minister, a National Senior Trainer at the Institute of Integral Qigong & Tai Chi, a Professional Member of the National Qigong Association, a Tai Chi Easy™, Tai Chi Chih™, Tai Chi for Arthritis and Chi Fitness Instructor and a Master Level Reiki Practitioner. This class is offered in cooperation with the Foundation of Living Medicine and the Healer Within Foundation. Deanne’s extensive background in medicine, psychology and theology offer a unique holistic experience. Her vibrant style, grounded energy and sense of humor create space for people to achieve deep personal transformation.
