 INTER-OFFICE

MEMORANDUM:

Date:               December 03, 2018

 To:                  RCSCW Governing Board

 From:             Mike Whiting, General Manager

Subject:          Weekly Activity Report – December 03, 2018

Facility Projects:

  1. Karl is out of the office this week and returns on 12-10-18.

Recreation:

  1. The Beardsley Facility recently was getting no reception for Sirius Radio and we found that the antenna that was on the roof was no longer there. The antenna and wire have been replaced and everything should be in working order.

  1. The Tennis Complex Grand Opening was held last week; all went well, everyone having a great time!

  1. We’re excited to present our 8th Season of SCW Talent Spotlight highlighting many new acts and “all” of your old favorites!  Join us on Wednesdays in the Kuentz Courtyard starting at 11 am for an hour of fun!  If you have any questions, call Patte Smith 623-544-6193.  The Talent lineup for December is:

12/05   Patti Dragish

12/12  Marce Fast

12/19  Cheryl Wagner

  1. The Sheriff’s Dept. was called out to the Pickleball Courts at Palm Ridge the night of November 28 at 10 p.m. Apparently, there were 7 people drinking and partying on our Pickleball Courts after hours in the dark.  The courts were already closed for the night and the noise and activity caused the neighbors to call the Sheriff’s Department.  We are reviewing the incident to determine how best to prevent this from recurring.

Sports Pavilion:

  1. Our Sunday Special brought in $560.

  1. We had two 300 games bowled last week. Congratulations go out to Larry Aden and Jim Montgomery!  To date this year we have had four 300 games bowled which is just under last year’s numbers.

  1. Some Bowling Stats:
  • We are 11% up in league bowling
  • We are 9% up in regular resident bowling
  • We are 10% up in non-resident bowling
  • We are up 641 lines of bowling for November 2018 over last year for the same time.

General Services:

  1. We’ve received about 100 requests from people registering to vote. Owner Members in good standing can send an email with their name, rec. card no. and email address to vote@suncitywest.com .  Please remember that you must include your rec. card number and each owner member must have their OWN email address.

  1. Gregg has completed the first phase of the phone system transition. We are now testing voice mail to email messaging and we will implement that for all email users once testing is complete.  This will enable us to receive phone messages on our email system.

  1. Gregg will begin working on the club’s network in December now that the other major projects that took precedence are almost complete.

  1. The new Golf Tee Time Lottery System went live today, Dec. 3. An instructional video was sent out in last week’s enews mailing and is available to view on our website, info.suncitywest.com.

  1. The Fall TORCH Session graduation was on Nov. 15. Congratulations to our 45 new graduates!  Registration is now underway for the Spring 2019 Session.  Anyone interested should call Karen Roepken at 623-544-6115 or visit https://info.suncitywest.com/sun-city-west-torch-citizens-academy/ to sign up.

  1. At November’s monthly meeting, the Governing Board voted to forward a proposed Bylaw change to the membership for a vote in the March 2019 election. The Bylaw change will be added to the ballot along with the election of Directors.  The proposal pertains to how members are notified of Bylaw changes.  Information explaining the change will be in the January 2019 issue of the Rec. Center News.
