You can help make a child’s holiday brighter by participating in Sun City West’s “Toys for Kids” drive, beginning Nov. 26! All area residents are invited to join in by contributing a new, unwrapped toy for a child in our local area this holiday season.

You can drop off your gift between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. between Nov. 26 and Dec. 7, at the Women’s/Boomers Club at Kuentz Recreation Center, 14401 R.H. Johnson Blvd. Gifts for children ages newborn to 12 years are greatly appreciated.

Participants also are welcome to join the Rec Centers and participating clubs from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at the Women’s/Boomers Club for music, cookies, hot chocolate and coffee. Come see Santa and the kids from Desert Oasis School in Surprise and Nadaburg School District in Wittman.

Toys from this drive go to First Things First (El Mirage Family Health Center), the Dysart Community Center, Army Veterans Organization, Nadaburg School District, Desert Oasis Elementary and Eve’s Place.

This event is sponsored by the Recreation Centers of Sun City West and hosted by the Sun City West Women’s and Boomer’s clubs. The Softball Club, Jazzercise, Woodworking, Pickleball, Bocce, Energetic Exercisers, Sun City West Cyclists and many other clubs also are holding toy drives and will contribute donated items to this event. The Rec Centers appreciates all the clubs’ and residents’ support!
